Ruth Rendell mystery shot in East Meon
In early 1996, an episode of the Ruth Rendell Mysteries was shot in East Meon. The director was BAFTA-award-winning James Cellan Jones and it was screened later that year on ITV. The George Inn was taken over by the crew, both for filming and as its headquarters. The river was dammed, to raise its level and bring the ducks into shot. The catering van and other vehicles parked in the car park in Workhouse Lane. This report appeared in the Petersfield Post.
